The States

I am an inveterate studier of the fifty states, and never tire of comparitive information. Primarily, of course, I like to know where I can find a list of the order that the original colonies adopted the Constitution:
  1. Delaware;
  2. Pennsylvania;
  3. New Jersey;
  4. Georgia;
  5. Connecticut;
  6. Massachusetts;
  7. Maryland;
  8. South Carolina;
  9. New Hampshire;
  10. Virginia;
  11. New York;
  12. North Carolina;
  13. Rhode Island.

Those Five Canadiennes

The Dionne Quintuplets were born on May 28, 1934. Their names were:
  1. Annette Lillianne Marie;
  2. Cécile Marie Emilda;
  3. Emilie Marie Jeanne;
  4. Marie Reina Alma;
  5. Yvonne Edouilda Marie.
Quite a story, actually. They are still the only same-sex, naturally conceived quintuplets in history (well, recorded history). Annette and Cécile are the only two surviving sisters.

Countries in Other Countries

I have always been interested in what other nations are called in other languages. For example, the English Switzerland is Suisse (French), Svizzera (Italian), Schweiz (German), etc. You get the picture. I am trying to track down a list of all the world’s states in as many languages I can reasonably fit on a page.

The Presidential Succession

So, you know that the Vice President succeeds the President should anything happen, but I always have trouble remembering the whole succession. The cabinet follows the Congressional leaders, in the order the secretariats were established. Here it is*:
